History of Bubble Gum

Bubble Gum is a rather balanced and stable Sativa-dominant hybrid strain. It is a cannabis strain that has become historical due to its popularity on the market.

Bubble Gum CBD originated in the United States in the late 1980s, in the state of Indiana. Its creator remains unknown today, but he must have selected this strain for its distinctive tutti-frutti chewing gum smell.

The strain then became so popular that it made its way across the USA to the East Coast, where it won several awards. In 1994 it won second place in two categories in the highly selective High Times Cannabis Cup! It also won second place in the 1995 and 1997 editions of the same competition.

The strain made a strong comeback in the early 2000s, winning the 2005 Spannabis Champion Cup and coming second in the 2007 edition.

As you can see, Bubble Gum is a strain which is worldwide recognized for its taste and effects. It would also seem that this strain is particularly appreciated by French people, as it is often in the top three of the French favourite rankings.

What characterizes Bubble Gum strain is undoubtedly its very special chewing gum taste with fruity notes and its long-lasting, sweet effects.

Let's start with the taste, and there is so much to say about it... Bubble Gum initially develops a very sweet taste reminiscent of tutti-frutti chewing gum with a fruity edge. This strain's smell is also quite subtle and complex, by pressing a little the buds between two fingers, you might let escape the flower’s aromas! You will perceive grapefruit, berries, and flowers smells.

Bubble Gum’s appearance is rather classic. The strain produces rather small but dense flowers. The flowers’ colour is quite light green, which indicates the presence of many trichomes on the flowers.  When pressed between fingers, the flowers crack slightly, ready to be grinded and consumed.
